ImageManager Overview
ShadowControl ImageManageri lets you maintain Incrementali backup images and the storage space consumed by your backup image files. Based on a policy that you create, ImageManager automatically consolidates Incremental backup image files into daily, weekly and monthly Incremental images. Additionally, ImageManager provides ongoing verification and replication services for the files that comprise your backup images.
ImageManager consists of these components:
ImageManager Service: A Windows service that performs the backup file management as defined by your policy.
ImageManager Client: The UI that lets you create and manage retention policies for your ShadowProtecti environment.

Note: ImageManager policies only apply when you are using the Continuous Incrementalsi backup schedule as defined in ShadowProtect. Standard Weekly and Monthly backup schedules do not use ImageManager and have separate retention policies. For more information, see "Creating Backup Image Files" in the ShadowProtect User Guide. |
