StorageCraft: the MSP’s Best Friend

StorageCraft has been working with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) for about six years now. You may not know, but StorageCraft was one of the first companies to offer our backup and disaster recovery solution, StorageCraft ShadowProtect, to MSPs on a monthly subscription basis. So we’ve pretty much been out in front of the disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) model from the beginning. Even before DRaaS became a buzzword in the industry, StorageCraft was revolutionizing and setting the standard for SMB companies who provide disaster recovery.

Several years ago, StorageCraft came out with a special version of ShadowProtect that was designed with MSPs in mind: ShadowProtect for Managed Service Providers. When we released it in 2011, it gave StorageCraft MSPs a way to remotely activate and deactivate ShadowProtect licenses, which was a good improvement in our ability to offer our partners what they needed. It’s only been two years, but it seems like we’ve come a long, long way in what we can offer MSPs.

For example, last year we released ShadowControl CMD, which was also created with MSPs in mind. ShadowControl CMD provides remote monitoring of every ShadowProtect installation, whether  you’re overseeing a single location, multiple locations, or many businesses at many locations. In a few weeks, we’ll be announcing some additional monitoring capabilities.

And just last month, we added StorageCraft Cloud Services to our complete, end-to-end disaster recovery solution. Now our MSPs can archive ShadowProtect backups in the cloud, recover files and  folders from those backups, or even provide total virtualization of a customer’s server in the StorageCraft Cloud.

So what’s next for StorageCraft and our MSP partners? Stay tuned because there’s much more to come this year.
