ShadowProtect Virtual Named 2011 Product of the Year Finalist

For the second year in a row, ShadowProtect is a finalist for the prestigious Storage magazine Product of the Year awards. SearchStorage.com posted an article about this year’s finalists in the Backup and Disaster Recovery Software and Services category.

From the article:

StorageCraft Technology Corp. ShadowProtect Virtual
StorageCraft ShadowProtect Virtual backs up Windows systems and can recover to a virtual machine, physical hardware or the cloud. New to this version: backup for virtual and physical environments, including support for Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Hyper-V, Oracle VirtualBox and VMware; the ability to boot a backup of a virtual machine directly for fast access to data without performing a restore; and a new centralized management console.

It’s said a lot, but it’s a big honor just to be nominated. And we’re proud that we’ve reached this achievement two years in a row.

StorageCraft listed in Utah 100 by Mountain West Capital Network

It’s been a busy week around here, so we’re a little behind in talking about our most recent award. We received recognition from the Mountain West Capital Network here in Salt Lake City last week when the MWCN held its annual Utah 100 luncheon. The Utah 100 honors the state’s 100 fastest growing companies, the top 15 revenue growth companies and the “Emerging Elite,” which are selected from thousands of eligible applicants solicited throughout the state.

StorageCraft ranked 20th in the Utah 100 in our first year on the list!

We were (and still are, quite frankly) very excited about this. We’re proud to be noticed for our success; it’s a great testament to the hard work, passion and creativity of our people, and we plan to continue this high standard of performance for a long time to come.

It also feels humbling and gratifying to be on the list with several other successful companies that represent a pretty broad set of industries, including technology, biomedical, healthcare, retail, construction and financial services. Congratulations to all of our fellow winners!

MSPmentor names StorageCraft CEO as MSP leader

MSPmentor just released the MSPmentor 250, the organization’s annual look at the executives, entrepreneurs, experts, coaches and community leaders shaping the global managed services market. We’re excited to announce that our president and CEO, Jeff Shreeve, made the list.

Jeff is one of the original five founders of StorageCraft and has been here since the beginning in 2004. He has extensive management experience in a variety of technology-based industries. He served as President of Advanced Geometrics, a geophysical research company; Vice President of Megalogics, Inc., and later CEO of DataCatchers, Inc., both developers of job costing systems. In addition, he served as Operations Manager of Rival Energy, an experimental energy development company and as Managing Member of Spectral Group, LLC, a software system development company. Jeff has also served in public management, including a term as the Salt Lake County Chief Deputy Auditor. He holds a Juris Doctorate degree from The University of Utah College of Law.

StorageCraft’s Petriello named as one of the top Women of the Channel

Nicole Petriello makes CRN Magazine’s list for second year in a row

DRAPER, Utah, U.S.A. – July 25, 2011 – Everything Channel’s CRN Magazine announced today Nicole Petriello, director of channel programs for StorageCraft Technology Corporation, has been named to CRN’s top Women of the Channel in 2011.

Petriello has served as the channel programs director for StorageCraft, a provider of best-in-class backup, disaster recovery, system migration and data protection solutions for servers, desktops and laptops, since February.

“Our channel is a key contributor to our success, and our goal is to help our partners become successful, too. I’m looking forward to building out our channel presence even further with the upcoming launch of our new partner program, which will help us improve our engagement with our resellers. We want to introduce them to great technology while focusing on their profitability,” said Petriello.

The annual list recognizes female executives for their accomplishments over the past year, based on their achievements as executives and the amount of influence they wield over the technology channel. A portion of the Women of the Channel list will appear in the July issue of CRN Magazine and expanded coverage will be featured online at www.crn.com.

“This year’s women of the channel list honors those female executives who epitomize success within the IT channel – a traditionally male-centric industry. Whether they come from tier-one vendors, VAR500 solution providers or just bring a bevy of channel experience that cannot be ignored, the 2011 Women of the channel list will recognize the most influential women of the channel based on their overall achievements, and their influence in the technology industry,” said Kelley Damore, VP, Editorial Director, Everything Channel.

StorageCraft Sales VP Named a CRN 2011 Channel Chief – 02/22/2011

Mike Kunz makes Everything Channel’s CRN Channel Chief list for third straight year

***

DRAPER, Utah, U.S.A. – Feb. 22, 2011 – StorageCraft Technology Corporation, a provider of innovative disk-based backup, disaster recovery, system migration and data protection solutions for servers, desktops and laptops, today announced that Everything Channel’s CRN is recognizing Mike Kunz, StorageCraft® vice president of sales, as a 2011 Channel Chief. This is the third year in a row that Kunz has been named to the list.

Each year CRN recognizes Channel Chiefs who are leaders in creating effective channel programs for solution providers. In addition, Channel Chiefs consistently defend, promote and execute effective channel partner programs and strategies.

CRN singled out Kunz because StorageCraft is growing its Managed Service Provider (MSP) partner program and emphasizing its commitment to its channel programs by doubling StorageCraft’s channel team.

“Even though it’s the third year in a row that my name is on this list, it’s really about StorageCraft’s ongoing dedication to our reseller partners,” said Kunz. “StorageCraft’s business model is built around the idea that if our partners succeed, we succeed. Our loyalty and commitment will remain with the channel.”

More than 95% of StorageCraft sales are indirect and it has two partner programs designed to meet the needs of its reseller partners: the StorageCraft Reseller Partner Program and the StorageCraft MSP Partner Program. Both programs require no cost to join and provide resellers with access to the award-winning ShadowProtect® line of disk-based backup and disaster recovery software solutions.

The CRN editorial staff chose this year’s Channel Chiefs based on policy and program innovations they made in 2010, the amount of revenue their companies generate through channel sales, their willingness to speak out publicly on behalf of the channel, and the number of years they’ve dedicated to channel activities.

“The CRN Channel Chiefs list is a comprehensive listing of the leading channel executives at vendor organizations and their accomplishments,” said Kelley Damore, VP, Editorial Director, Everything Channel. “This prestigious list serves as a valuable must-read for solution providers looking to get to right contacts within the vendor community. We applaud this year’s Channel Chiefs for their successful partner programs and strategies.”

ShadowProtect Wins APC Editor’s Choice Award

APC Magazine calls ShadowProtect the “most comprehensive imaging product” for backup and disaster recovery

***

Sydney, AustraliaStorageCraft Technology Corporation, a provider of innovative disk-based backup, disaster recovery, data protection, migration and security solutions for servers, desktops and laptops, today announced that StorageCraft ShadowProtect™, disk-based backup and disaster recovery software, has earned the APC Editor’s Choice award.

In the latest lab round-up, APC reviewed and tested several imaging backup and disaster recovery software products, all compatible with Microsoft Windows Server 2003. In the resulting comparative review which appears in the August 2007 edition, StorageCraft ShadowProtect™ was the only software to receive the coveted Editor’s Choice award and was the highest- rated solution.

APC reviewer Paul Schnackenburg, wrote, “The concept of imaging isn’t new – what is surprising is the extent to which this technology has matured and been adapted for many different scenarios.”

“ShadowProtect is the most comprehensive imaging product in the line-up,” continued Schnackenburg. “…The product has a tabbed interface that makes it easy to work with. The shortest time between incremental images is 15 minutes. Logging was comprehensive and email notification was offered.”

With StorageCraft ShadowProtect you can take the cost and complexity out of backing up and recovering your Windows systems. ShadowProtect eliminates backup windows, protects data real-time at 15 minute intervals throughout the day, and has integrated fast disaster recovery – with the ability to perform a BMR (Bare Metal Restore) of an Exchange, SQL or Server 2003 in typically under 12 minutes in a single, integrated solution.

“You want to consider the amazing [ShadowProtect] IT Edition if you move around as an IT consultant, because it has an amazing feature: it doesn’t need any installation on the target system,” wrote Schnackenburg.

Wayne Small agrees. Small, technical director for Correct Solutions in Sydney is one of the many IT consultants who utilises StorageCraft ShadowProtect IT Edition. “It’s got the best engine, best support and great options for IT resellers in the DR scenario,” said Small.

Regarding his editorial evaluation of ShadowProtect, Schnackenburg continued, “Its bootable CD can be used to take a complete backup (either as a cold backup or from within Windows) before a hardware or software upgrade or installation. It also handles physical to virtual backups, so you can test a disaster recovery plan without disturbing production systems.”

APC concluded the backup products review by writing, “The most important part of any disaster recovery solution isn’t the backup procedure and ease of use – it’s the reliability and speed during a restore. We tested this in a lab with each backup product, but the ultimate test is when your server is dead (and when the users are screaming) and you have to bring it back online. That’s when you have to trust your software.”

StorageCraft Real-Time Recovery
StorageCraft lead the Real-Time Recovery market with over one million users of their real-time recovery engine Volume Snapshot Manager™. The Real-Time Recovery market has developed due to the failure of traditional backup products to meet the stringent SLAs now required by companies of all sizes. Traditional backup products are slow, complex, unreliable and expensive. Real-Time Recovery focuses on recovery of operating systems, databases and data to deliver affordable Business Continuity. For a product to meet the requirements of a Real-Time Recovery solution, it must be a single, integrated purpose-built solution, deliver exceptionally rapid BMR (Bare Metal Restores) of a Windows server (typically in under 12 minutes), provide Real-Time data and database (e.g. SQL and Exchange) protection at intervals no greater than every 15 minutes, minimise disk space used and deliver a complete solution without the need for add-ons, options or agents.
