Flexible Licensing & Delivery for StorageCraft ShadowProtect IT Edition
StorageCraft has new options for IT administrators and solution providers who use StorageCraft ShadowProtect IT Edition. Now you can license ShadowProtect IT Edition on a per-project basis, if you wish, rather than for an entire year. There are annual, quarterly, monthly or a two-week licensing options.
There are also a couple of new features in the just-released version of ShadowProtect IT Edition.
- Complete support for Windows 7 and Windows 2008, Windows 2008R2.
- New Boot Configuration tool to improve migrations and restores to different hardware – or to and from virtual environments.

StorageCraft Announces ShadowProtect IT 3.0
Disk-based backup technology includes hardware independent restore (HIR), migration to and from virtual environments

DRAPER, Utah, U.S.A. – StorageCraft Technology Corporation, a provider of innovative disk-based backup, disaster recovery, data protection, migration and security solutions for servers, desktops and laptops, today announced the upcoming release of the latest version of its ShadowProtect™ line of disk-based backup and disaster recovery software, StorageCraft ShadowProtect IT Edition™ 3.0.
ShadowProtect IT Edition includes features which allow hardware-independent restoration following a catastrophic data loss or hardware failure of a Windows server, desktop or laptop. This allows IT professionals to create a live or cold state backup image and restore it to a completely different system.
“The addition of HIR allows us to restore to any environment, either virtual or physical,” said Ken Edwards of Maverick Mesa Computer Specialties. “With ShadowProtect IT Edition, we are able to get our customers up and running in less than an hour.”
With ShadowProtect IT Edition, IT professionals are also able to restore a backup image to virtual environments, which can be the fastest method of restoring a system in the event of a catastrophic failure. Recovery to a virtual environment may also save money by avoiding costly downtime.
ShadowProtect IT Edition allows administrators to backup, restore or migrate to new systems with flexibility – whether they are going from a physical machine to another physical machine (P2P), a physical to a virtual machine (P2V), or even a virtual machine to a physical machine (V2P).

ShadowProtect IT Edition also makes it easier to recover servers, desktops and laptops from a catastrophic failure. New features include tools to help IT professionals get their systems up and running in minutes from the StorageCraft Recovery Environment.
ShadowProtect IT Edition has an improved recovery environment which includes thousands of additional drivers to make it easy to recover systems and data. In addition, ShadowProtect IT Edition allows IT professionals to dynamically load drivers to provide complete flexibility in adding new storage controller drivers or NIC drivers, for example.
