Search

The Basic Search, Advanced Search, and search mode operations let you:

  • Use search criteria such as keywords, phrases, creation date, subject matter, sender, and recipient in order to find messages
  • Use an asterisk (*) at the end of a word to search wildcard or unknown terms
  • Select either “match all fields” or “match any fields” to narrow or broaden your search
  • Limit search parameters to before or after a point in time or to a window of time
  • Search just one specific folder or mailbox for emails and other message items to recover
  • Search all mailboxes in an Exchange database at once (instead of going through one mailbox at a time) for emails and other message items to recover

The user interface, recovery utilities, export operations, Restore Limits settings, and Temporary Database Location settings allow you to:  

  • Drag-and-drop or right-click to easily recover items from an Exchange backup image to your Exchange server or a .PST file
  • Restore one or more email messages (and their attachments), folders, contacts, and other message items directly to the production Exchange server or a .PST file
  • Restore a single mailbox or bulk mailboxes, contents included, to the production Exchange server
  • Export specific email messages, appointments, tasks, and other message items as .MSG or .TXT files

StorageCraft Granular Recovery for Exchange licensing options

For Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, 2007, 2010:

  • 60-day project license for short-term Exchange projects
  • 250-mailbox license for businesses and organizations with fewer than or equal to 250 mailboxes
  • Unlimited license for businesses and organizations that have 251 or more mailboxes

Please note that the 250-mailbox license and the unlimited license are each licenses to a specific server.

For Microsoft Exchange Server 2013:

  • 60-day project license for short-term Exchange projects
  • 250-mailbox license for businesses and organizations with fewer than or equal to 250 mailboxes
  • Unlimited license for businesses and organizations that have 251 or more mailboxes

Please note that the 250-mailbox license and the unlimited license are each licenses to a specific .EDB.

StorageCraft licenses to a specific .EDB for Exchange Server 2013 in order to make it available at a price point in line with the license price for Exchange Server 2003, 2007, or 2010.

Technical specifications

Supported environments

Use StorageCraft Granular Recovery for Exchange with your existing backup solution. This granular recovery software can recover and migrate items from any brand’s backup image, so long as you can extract a Microsoft Exchange Server Database (.EDB) file and transaction logs from your backup file and place them in a local directory.

StorageCraft Granular Recovery for Exchange supports

  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2013
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2010
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2007
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003

as sources and targets (destinations) for items you plan to restore or migrate. Additionally, .PST, .MSG, and .TXT files are also supported targets.

Installation requirements

StorageCraft Granular Recovery for Exchange installs on 64-bit versions of

  • Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Windows Server 2012

  • Windows 7

and it should not be installed on an Exchange server.

StorageCraft Granular Recovery for Exchange requires an Outlook client (Outlook 2007 SP3 or newer installed), and Outlook should not be installed on the Exchange server.
