3-day CD
Today I once again had the misfortune to require downloadong and burning a 3-day CD for an old workstation that cannot boot from USB.
As usual, speed was paramount, and as usual the download speeds of the 3-day CD was abysmal, varying between 20 and 60 kb/sec. This means the download will take between 1 and 3 hours! (if it succeeds).
StorageCraft, this is not good enough! A similar sized download from Microsoft takes 2-3 minutes to come down!

Re: 3-day CD
Yes I have also complained about this in the past as have others.
We are on a new fibre connection at work with 15Mbps download & upload speeds and most sites we get at least 300kbps download.
Some we even get over 1Mbps like Microsoft.
Not from StorageCraft however!
Re: 3-day CD
Why not burn the ISO that's on the IT edition USB and use the network license server?
Re: 3-day CD
Because it's not always possible hence the reason for the 3 day ISO.
Re: 3-day CD
Any update on this?
I am going to have to download the 3 day ISO again this week for a job over the weekend so need to know how much time I should allow to download the ISO thanks.
Re: 3-day CD
Downloading at 60KB/s right now. Come on Storagecraft upload it to amazon or something so we can download the ISO in less then an hour.
Re: 3-day CD
I also have had the need to download the IT edition 3 day iso due to limitations in the licensing not working over routed subnets.. All up its probably added at least 3 hours to this migration.. Im glad its a migration and not a DR.
3-day CD
I've tested this, and have seen 2.7Mbps download speeds thru-out the download. I don't think this is a problem anymore. Please update with new information if this is still a problem.
Speed not Fixed
Still getting 270KB/Sec so it takes around 20 minutes to get the ISO. I normally get around 140KB/Sec so they may have fixed something. But it will always be slow because they use FTP and a single connection so latency will determine the download speed as well.
What would be helpful is a 7-Day or 30-Day ISO; after spending several thousands of dollars buying IT Editions for engineers it sure would be helpful if we could get access to this ISO in a hurry. Especially when we are doing a DR for a customer - dialogue goes "Hi Customer we are just downloading the 3-Day ISO, I understand that this is important to your business but StorageCraft likes us to wait 30+ minutes to obtain mission critical software" "CLICK" "Hello Customer are you still there?" .....
