Convert USB Dongle to ISO!

The new shadow protect comes on USB Dongle! YAY! But guess what, Hyper-V doesn't support FAT32 passthrough (for some unknown reason). This put's me in a pickle.

How do I virtualise my machines? Well, lucky for me tonight, the old CD still works! But how do I convert this USB Dongle to an ISO to boot my VM's and restore them?

Making an ISO from the old CD was easy, many 3rd party products support creating an ISO from a CD. They don't however, support creating an ISO from a bootable FAT32 USB Dongle.

Any ideas, please?

If you look on the USB dongle, you will notice a ISO file. You will also notice a Start_LicenseServer.CMD

Plug in the USB dongle on any machine on the local subnet and run the license server, then attach the ISO to the virtual machine and give it the IP of the machine hosting the USB dongle.

Am I allowed to copy the contents of the dongle to a server, then run the batch file from there?

Re: Convert USB Dongle to ISO!

The license is directly tied to the hardware ID of the USB device, meaning that it will only work on the USB drive that the license was created for. In other words StorageCraft directly creates a license based on that specific USB and will not work if copied to any other location or device.
