What are cookies?
A cookie is a small file sent to your web browser and stored on your computer. They are unique identifiers that allow our systems to recognize your computer, let us know you have visited before, and tell us the pages you visited on our Websites. Some of the cookies we use are essential to help you access and move around our Websites and use all their features. Without these cookies, our Websites would not work properly and you would not be able to use certain important features.
Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences and improving the sign-in process. If you do not want to receive cookies, you may change your cookie preferences here:
Be mindful, however, that rejecting cookies may affect your ability to use or take full advantage of StorageCraft Websites.
What's the difference between first and third party cookies?
Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, StorageCraft) are called "first party cookies". Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third party cookies". Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g. like advertising, interactive content and analytics). The parties that set these third party cookies can recognise your computer both when it visits the website in question and when it visits certain other websites.
We use first party and third party cookies for several reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons in order for our Websites to operate, and we refer to these as "essential" or "strictly necessary" cookies.
As you browse StorageCraft Websites, advertising cookies may also be placed on your computer from third parties to help us understand your interests. Through the use of third-party advertising partners, we can then present you with retargeting advertising on other sites based on your previous interactions with StorageCraft.
The specific types of first and third party cookies served through our Websites and the purposes they perform are described below:
What about other tracking technologies, like web beacons?
Cookies are not the only way to recognise or track visitors to a website. We may use other, similar technologies from time to time, like web beacons (sometimes called "tracking pixels" or "clear gifs"). These are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognise when someone has visited our Websites or opened an e-mail that we have sent them. This allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within our Websites to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our Websites from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve site performance, and to measure the success of e-mail marketing campaigns. In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will impair their functioning.
How can I control cookies?
