  • By using ShadowXafe, MSPs can exceed their clients’ expectations and SLAs

DRAPER, UT – July 7, 2020 – StorageCraft®, whose mission is to protect all data and ensure its constant availability, announced today that Channel Partner Insight named StorageCraft ShadowXafe® the ‘Best Backup/Continuity Offering’ at the MSP Innovation Awards New York 2020. The annual awards are independently judged and honor vendors, distributors, and managed service providers (MSPs) across the United States that are leading the way in managed services at a time of unprecedented disruption and change in the channel.

When selecting the Best Backup/Continuity Offering of the year, Channel Partner Insight assessed the overall ShadowXafe solution and its benefits to MSPs. ShadowXafe radically simplifies oversight of the data protection life cycle, saving MSPs hours during deployment and management, reducing error potential, and recovering data in milliseconds. Seamless integration with leading business management platforms: ShadowXafe 4.0 eliminates pain points around licensing and billing through consolidated automated licensing and billing on ConnectWise Manage and Automate business management platforms.

Said Shridar Subramanian, CMO at StorageCraft: "By significantly expanding the use case deployments of ShadowXafe, and enabling it to coexist with OneXafe Solo implementations, we give customers unmatched levels of protection, simplicity, and flexibility. It ensures SLA-driven data protection and delivers robust recovery for physical machines and VMs. Tightly integrated with StorageCraft cloud-based DRaaS, ShadowXafe provides total business continuity and orchestrated recovery with a single click. • StorageCraft included on inaugural CRN Storage 100 list because it pushes the boundaries of innovation.
  • StorageCraft OneXafe and ShadowXafe bring innovative data storage and protection solutions to small and mid-size organizations.
  • Solution providers that standardize on StorageCraft experience lower costs and maximize profits.

DRAPER, UT – APRIL 23, 2020 – StorageCraft®, whose mission is to protect all data and ensure its constant availability, announced today that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named StorageCraft to its first ever 2020 Storage 100 list. In its ranking, CRN highlighted StorageCraft as one of 20 Coolest Data Protection Companies. The ranking was compiled by a panel of CRN editors, and acknowledges leading storage vendors who provide transformative, cutting-edge solutions.

StorageCraft leads in developing innovative storage and data protection solutions. In an era of explosive data growth, when it’s harder than ever to maintain uptime and data availability, StorageCraft OneXafe® delivers much-needed relief to midsize organizations struggling with data management and protection. This ground-breaking converged data platform eliminates storage and data protection silos while blurring the line between primary and secondary storage. OneXafe is affordable, near-infinitely scalable and magnitudes easier to manage than other solutions on the market.

In addition to continuous data protection (CDP) of files via space-optimized snapshots, OneXafe includes StorageCraft ShadowXafe next-generation data protection of physical and virtual systems. ShadowXafe features host-based and agent-based protection of virtual machines (VMs) and the ability to boot backup images as VMs in milliseconds, regardless of VM size. With the recently announced OneXafe Solo, StorageCraft extends the OneXafe family, thus making best-in-class business continuity available to all market segments via a single technology stack. The OneXafe Solo plug-and-play appliance provides cloud-based data backup, protection and recovery for small-business environments. The appliance has a mini form factor and allows solution providers to serve small businesses with ease and healthy margins. OneXafe’s ability to stream data directly to the cloud and its flexible options for local storage deliver not just rapid data recovery, but also unprecedented workload flexibility and scalability for SMBs.

The OneXafe family raises the bar on what can be achieved to manage exponential data growth, safeguard data from disaster and prevent downtime for all businesses.

Not only do StorageCraft and the other Storage 100 companies push the boundaries of innovation, the list itself is a valuable resource for solution providers to find vendors who can guide them through the intricate storage technology market. The Storage 100 list will become an annual reference for solution providers who are seeking out vendors offering superior storage solutions in areas such as software-defined storage, data protection, data management and storage components.

STORAGECRAFT’S ONEXAFE SOLO DEBUT GARNERS INDUSTRY-WIDE ACCLAIM

  • MSPs can now offer an affordable and scalable disaster recovery solution in a simple plug-and-play appliance with no upfront cost
  • Total business continuity by direct backup to StorageCraft Cloud Services (DRaaS) with the option of on-premises data backup to an internal drive, NAS device, or USB-storage
  • Transition to remote-working teams made simple and secure for SMBs

DRAPER, UT – April 7, 2020 – StorageCraft®, whose mission is to protect all data and ensure its constant availability, today announced the immediate availability of the much anticipated OneXafe® Solo™. The launch follows a successful global beta program that garnered strong endorsements from partners, MSPs, and distributors. OneXafe Solo provides a radically simple, anytime, anywhere, cloud-based business continuity solution in a compact plug-and-play device. It delivers enterprise-class data backup and recovery at an SMB price point.

OneXafe Solo is extremely easy to configure, deploy, and manage. Because the device can stream data directly to the cloud via a simple internet connection, there is no need for costly onsite infrastructure. It is built using the same advanced data protection technology platform that powers StorageCraft ShadowXafe. OneXafe Solo features the powerful functionality of reliable and flexible restore, SLA-based data protection and workflow, instant restore with StorageCraft Virtual Boot, and cloud-based management with StorageCraft OneSystem. Because of its ultimate flexibility, OneXafe Solo is perfectly suited for deployment in a wide range of environments, including virtual, physical, agentless (i.e. host-based), agent-based, as well as with multiple local storage options.

Thanks to OneXafe Solo, MSPs can now protect single tenant and multi-tenant customer environments within minutes. To deploy, users connect the device to the internet, and follow a few simple steps that can be completed by non-technical personnel. The appliance then ‘calls home,’ and notifies the MSP that it is activated. Next, the MSP remotely sets data protection policies, including backup frequency, retention policy, target location, and replication for cloud disaster recovery. Easy setup for licensing, billing, and reporting through seamless integration with ConnectWise adds to the management and economic benefits for MSPs.

With many companies rushing to set up secure remote working environments for employees due to mandatory COVID-19 related ‘shelter in place’ orders, SMBs with limited budgets and skills will be particularly challenged. MSPs have a vital role here, and OneXafe Solo can be a high-value asset in this situation. Thanks to its flexibility and simplicity, it can be deployed without any technical knowledge in a small business or ROBO (remote office/branch office) environment. MSPs can then manage OneXafe Solo remotely via StorageCraft OneSystem from anywhere through any web browser. This eliminates the need for dedicated onsite servers, time-consuming software upgrades, or further onsite customer visits.

OneXafe Solo provides MSPs and SMBs with the ultimate flexibility and a range of deployment options independent of the environment they’re protecting, including VMs, physical servers, desktops, and laptops. Unlike competitive appliances in this class, OneXafe Solo does not impose a limit on the number of machines that can be supported by a single device. This expands the value, scale, and flexibility of the solution. OneXafe Solo allows MSPs to accommodate additional data protection policies and manage at scale with just a few clicks. With the same set of tools, MPSs can address multiple use cases, including physical or virtual server protection, on-premise, or direct to cloud backup, all with always-on offsite disaster recovery.

Supporting Quotes
Mike Bodenheimer SCME, Backup Support Specialist, Dynamic Quest, U.S.: “This is a perfect solution for some of our SMB clients and also helps to round out our already robust offerings further. The OneXafe Solo allows us to deliver customers an immediate, simple, and scalable data protection, back-up, and recovery solution at a highly competitive price point. We take the appliance to our customer site, power on, assign SLAs and RTOs, and the rest is taken care of. The incredibly powerful but simple ‘single pane of glass’ management makes it a breeze to manage and adjust policies and settings.”

Travis Vigneau, Director of Solution Partner Strategy for ConnectWise, U.S.: “We were very excited to learn of StorageCraft’s OneXafe Solo. This is going to be a great solution for MSPs in helping them grow their cloud backup and recovery business. The simplicity of the solution belies the power and scale of the cloud backup and recovery services it delivers. The benefit of no upfront cost, single pane of glass management and easy integration to the ConnectWise business management platform makes it a strong entry in the ConnectWise ecosystem.”

Bill Stayart, Chief Technology Strategist Kyocera Document Solutions, U.S.: “We have been asking for a solution like this. It entails no complex configuration and requires minimal to no technician support. We simply drop the OneXafe Solo appliance into a customer site, connect to the internet, and they are up and running with cloud backup in minutes. This is the perfect channel solution -- a high-value customer service that is simple to order, even more simple to deploy, powerful, and ridiculously easy to manage.”

Frank Rosenkranz, Managing Director, Uzuner Systems GmbH, Germany: “This is a perfect solution for our SMB clients and customers with distributed environments. We can deliver them immediate, simple, and scalable data protection, back-up, and recovery at a highly consumable price point. We can take or send the appliance to our customer site, power on, assign SLAs and RTOs, and the rest is taken care of. In the event we need to adjust service levels, the incredibly powerful but simple ‘single pane of glass’ management makes it a breeze.

Chris Cadge, Sales Director, Mtech, U.K.: “As an early adopter, I have been extremely impressed with the simple, no-nonsense setup of OneXafe Solo and its ability to provide full protection in one small unit at a single monthly price. Setup literally took minutes. We installed a 2.5” drive in the appliance and, once we ran through the setup routines, we were able to protect our servers with regular backups to both the internal drive and to the StorageCraft Cloud Services.  Its single-pane-of-glass management provides a modern, intuitive, and informative interface. I can easily see the status of my backups, and in an emergency, I can cloud-boot my server in a couple of minutes and have everything running again. This gives me the best of both worlds, with local recovery of files and folders and an off-site recovery environment in the case of a disaster.”

Colin Nah, Director, Biz-Era.Net Pte Ltd, Singapore: “After extensive testing of OneXafe Solo, it is clearly going to be of great benefit to our customers with distributed servers in different locations that want to back up to a common location. The small footprint of the appliance, ease of set up, and ability of the service to back up on-premises as well as to the cloud make it a high-value addition to our business continuity portfolio.”

Pricing and Availability
There are no upfront costs. OneXafe Solo is billed via a monthly subscription that aligns with an MSP’s business model by charging for the number of machines that are protected. OneXafe Solo is available immediately through major distribution partners. Subscription pricing starts at less than US$99/month per protected machine, with a lower price of $79/month for each additional protected machine.

STORAGECRAFT DESIGNATES SEPTEMBER 3 ANNUAL ‘WORLD DATA RECOVERY DAY’

World Backup Day is March 31 – and Then What?
25% of Companies Have Not Tested Their Recovery Plans

DRAPER, Utah, March 30 2020, — StorageCraft®, whose mission is to protect all data and ensure its constant availability, today announced it has proposed and submitted that, starting 2020, September 3 becomes annual World Data Recovery Day. While data backup is a standard practice throughout most organizations, what is not as well understood is the process and importance of data recovery.

Regular data backup is just one step in the business continuity process. A planned and tested data recovery process is critical. With businesses reporting an average hourly cost of server downtime being between US$301,000 – US$400,000 per hour[1], it is paramount that organizations are able to identify business-critical data and applications, and have an appropriate recovery plan in place. Because not all data is of equal value to the core processes that keep a business running, organizations need to have an orchestrated recovery process from backup aligned to critical business requirements.

Independent research study from Dimensional Research, commissioned by StorageCraft, shows that many organizations’ IT decision makers (ITDMs) are not sufficiently prepared for recovery should the need to restore from their data backup arise. The study covered 709 IT decision makers with responsibility for data protection and storage solutions in companies with 100 - 2,500 employees. The findings illustrate the need for better business recovery preparedness:

  • Only 15% of organizations can recover from severe data loss within an hour
  • 41% of organizations have experienced data loss in the last year[2]
  • Close to a quarter of organizations with a recovery plan do not test it
  • Organizations do not test recovery plans frequently. Nearly half (46%) of all organizations with recovery plans only test their plans once every 12 months or even less
  • Nearly half of organizations mistakenly believe their public cloud services provider is responsible for data and application recovery in case of a ransomware attack or data loss
  • 39% of IT decision makers believe being unable to manage data growth will make them more susceptible to security risk

Said Shridar Subramanian, VP Marketing and Product Management at StorageCraft: “The business problem is no longer ‘if’ but ‘when’ and ‘how’ will a data outage happen. Data backup is absolutely important, but today, it’s simply table stakes. The most important question to ask is ‘how fast will we recover?’ and then to validate the answer. With the introduction of World Data Recovery Day, we want to work with other industry leaders to raise urgent awareness that we are now in the ‘recovery era’! Our goal is to provide a focal point to educate IT leaders worldwide on best practices that help organizations ensure they are adequately prepared to deal with a possible – and likely – failure of their IT infrastructure.“

The Channel Company Presents StorageCraft with XCellence Award at 2020 XChange March Conference

  • Solution providers attending XChange selected StorageCraft for boardroom excellence after watching multiple vendors share their channel stories.
  • StorageCraft recovery solutions for ransomware and other data disasters resonate with leading solution providers.

DRAPER, UT – March 18, 2020 – StorageCraft®, whose mission is to protect all data and ensure its constant availability, announced today that it was honored with the 2020 XCellence Award for Boardroom Execution at this year's XChange conference, hosted by The Channel Company at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas.

Leading solution providers attending the XChange conference selected StorageCraft for this award in appreciation of its innovative products, services and partner programs. This award recognizes StorageCraft’s dedication to helping solution providers future-proof their business.

At its boardroom sessions, StorageCraft presented on how to win the fight against ransomware. According to the FBI, businesses and individuals lost $3.5 billion to ransomware and other cybercrimes in 2019[1] — and that’s based on reported incidents, meaning the actual number could be much higher. The StorageCraft recovery story resonated with solution providers at XChange because they see recovery as the highest priority within the data protection category.

StorageCraft products provide multiple means for recovery from ransomware and other disasters. In particular, StorageCraft ShadowXafe data protection software features StorageCraft VirtualBoot™ technology—VirtualBoot enables users to perform recoveries onto a virtual platform in milliseconds. ShadowXafe also integrates with StorageCraft Cloud Services™, a cloud purpose-built for disaster recovery. Solution providers can replicate backups to StorageCraft Cloud Services, away from encrypting malware, and they can quickly recover data, systems, and even entire networks when a disaster strikes.

VirtualBoot is also available with StorageCraft OneXafe®, a converged data platform that unifies data protection and scale-out storage. OneXafe also protects data from ransomware with its continuous data protection (CDP) feature: immutable, space-optimized snapshots of data taken every 90 seconds that allow for rapid recovery of lost or damaged files.

New to StorageCraft’s line-up, the OneXafe Solo 300 plug-and-play appliance generated significant excitement during XChange boardroom sessions. This appliance streams data directly to StorageCraft Cloud Services to provide business continuity to solution providers’ smaller clients with simpler IT environments.

The Channel Company’s XChange March conference, held this year in San Antonio, Texas, from March 1–3, provided attendees with empowering insight, actionable business strategies and unmatched peer connections. Attendees learn from industry leaders, who present the latest technologies, programs and business models that are enabling solution providers to realize lasting success.

STORAGECRAFT BOOSTS CHANNEL ENGAGEMENT AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS; PROMOTES ANDY ZOLLO TO HEAD OF GLOBAL SALES

DRAPER, Utah, March 12 -- StorageCraft®, whose mission is to protect all data and ensure its constant availability, today announced a series of channel initiatives designed to boost partner business, customer success and profitability. This doubling-down on channel engagement is underscored by the promotion of Andy Zollo to head of global sales. Previously, Zollo was in charge of StorageCraft sales in EMEA and APAC.

Said Zollo, “We are a 100% channel dedicated company. Our success goes hand in hand with the success of our partners. As we expanded the StorageCraft offering into an integrated technology suite that covers the entire data management and protection category, it was important to build end-user demand for our partners. With that sales motion now well underway, we are directing all of our sales effort toward the channel to ensure they are best placed to succeed in this category.” He continued, “We are seeing a new wave of purchasing motion as the industry adopts a recurring billing and purchasing model. As well as making it as easy as possible to work with us, we have an important role in helping them maximize this market opportunity. We are in it together—to win.”

Recent independent research shows 60% of end-user customers believe that data backed up to a public cloud service is safer than data backed up on premises. Moreover, nearly half of IT decision makers believe it is the cloud service providers’ responsibility to recover data in the event of an outage. Said Zollo, “This perception mismatch presents both an education and business expansion opportunity for the channel, that we will vigorously help them fulfil. The evolution of hybrid cloud strategies for data management, protection and recovery is a market we are perfectly placed to succeed in—which equates to a bigger business and revenue opportunity for our channel partners.”

StorageCraft is rolling out a nationwide roadshow to train partners across the StorageCraft data management and protection solution suite including ShadowXafe data protection and recovery software, OneXafe scalable converged storage appliances, Cloud DRaaS, Cloud On Site Back-Up services, and the much anticipated OneXafe Solo plug-and-play data backup appliance. The company is also introducing an ongoing cooperative marketing program tailored to individual partner requirements.

StorageCraft will continue to consolidate partner support services into a single portal. “This is a work in progress and has proven highly successful in helping our many partners that are transitioning or expanding to cloud and monthly recurring revenue business models,” concludes Zollo. The integrated approach to support is extended to the StorageCraft product family where the entire solution suite can now be managed through a single pane of glass which provides channel partners effortless scale, ease of service consumption, and help contain and lower cost within their business.
